Eleven-year-old survives shipwreck, 40 migrants missing in Mediterranean

An 11-year-old girl from Sierra Leone was rescued after three days at sea off Italy’s Lampedusa island, a rescue charity said Wednesday. She was the sole survivor after the boat, which had more than 40 people on board, capsized.
